riviera West
Fire safety program
Riviera West maintains a robust and comprehensive fire safety program tailored to our unique layout and natural environment. Guided by strong Board leadership and supported by an active Fire Safety Committee, our members receive timely, practical guidance focused on protecting both people and property.

Riviera West was the first community in Lake County to earn Firewise Communities certification. We are also a founding member of the Konocti Fire Safe Council, with a Riviera West member serving on the KFSC Board of Directors.

Our Board of Directors works closely with Lake County emergency response agencies and neighboring community leaders to research, develop, and promote best-in-class fire resiliency practices. These efforts include lot-clearing campaigns, free chipping services, tree-removal consultations, and ongoing education to strengthen community-wide preparedness.

Plan Ahead for Evacuation in the Soad Bay Road Corridor
More than 7800 residences and businesses are located in the Soa Bay Road area. For individual homes, commercial buildings, HOA developments and mobile home parks, Soda Bay Road is the only access route. During a wildfire, everyone will need to evacuate along Soda Bay Road. At the same time, emergency responders rely on Soda Bay Road for access to protect life and property during a fire.
